Today we walked in the woods around the pond. The day was lovely, bright, and cool.
The leaves are turning :- )
Elvis found something he wanted to bring home :- )
We found some things to bring home, too: pinecones, acorns, a pretty leaf. That's my new owl candle (from Target). I collect birds--owls are my favorite.
This afternoon my daughter and I made up a new wreath for our front door from materials we had on hand. We pulled the faded decorations off an old grapevine wreath. Then we added flowers, leaves, and fruit from some old stems that were in our craft bin leftover from old projects. We didn't use hot glue or wire to secure the stems, we just stuck them in the vine wreath. That way we can use them again for something else if we need to. I am pleased with the way it turned out :-)
Tonight I plan on making a pot of chai and working on my Tea Leaves cardigan while listening to old records.
Each year I am struck anew by the miracle of nature turning everything to gold.
Happy weekending!
