I started another Super Simple Cowl (see sidebar for pattern). This one is for my friend Annie who is coming to visit me next week for my birthday! Her favorite color is purple, and she got a new red peacoat for Christmas. Isn't this colorway perfect? It's Kureyon 250. I have to say, knitting with Noro is addicting.
I'm reading, Bone River, by Megan Chance. I loved Chance's An Inconvenient Wife and The Spritiualist but I couldn't get through Prima Donna. So far, this book is slow going for me, but I am going to stick with it. A few people have said that the story picks up in the middle. It's about a woman who finds a mummy on the banks of the Mouse River, Washington State 1875.
One of my pet peeves are over-sized mugs. I like my hot beverages to stay hot, which is impossible with a 16 ouncer. I was thrilled to find these colorful 8 oz. mugs at Target for $1.99 each. I bought one in every color : )
Today is my Zachary's 18th birthday. Time is such a trickster: I held a beautiful red haired baby in my arms yesterday, and today he is a man with muscles and a beard. He's an awesome guy who generously gives his time and talent to so many people. He's a scuba diver, a guitar virtuoso, an animal lover, and an environmental activist and volunteer. I am 100% proud to be his mama! "Go, Zachy, Go!"
Joining Ginny and friends for this week's Yarn Along.
