Last week, after I finished another pair of socks for one of his sisters, six year old Luke asked, "Mama, are you going to knit socks for me?" Yes, of course I am! We looked through my stash until he found the colors he likes best in a ball of Knit One, Crochet Too, Ty-Dy Socks #1631. I followed Susan B. Anderson's free pattern: Ribbed Socks For Kids . All of Susan's patterns are well-written and easy-to-follow--she's one of my favorite designers.
I only have a few more chapters left to read in Illuminations, by Mary Sharratt--I will be so sad to finish this excellent book. Sharratt has brought to life the medieval world and person of St. Hildegard for me, and I will always remember and treasure this story. Next, I plan to read In The Kingdom of Men, by Kim Barnes, which was mentioned by a fellow knit alonger a couple of weeks ago. I just ordered, Connecting With Children: Educating the Will, by master Waldorf teacher Stephen Spitalny, a book highly recommended by Carrie at The Parenting Passageway. I can't wait until it arrives.
