Contentment

It was cool enough to go the pond this morning and walk the dogs. Some of the kids came, too. Here are Amy and Emmeline with Elvis. Zachary is up ahead with Edna. (They walk faster than we do):
There was a refreshing breeze blowing off the water. I was happy to see the swans and to greet the other dog walkers. I have some favorite trees in these woods--those white birches always make me smile.

Back at home, we played croquet after lunch and swam. Then, I spent an hour trying to photograph a chickadee coming out of the birdhouse. It required a lot of patience and sitting in the sun, very still, with my camera. I never did get a decent shot. My camera is ancient and takes a long time to process each photo. It only allows me one click of the shutter every five seconds. The chickadee was much faster than that. : )

Tonight I'm making homemade pizza for supper, and for dessert, I think I'll whip up a pan of brownies before settling in with my knitting.

    1. I am still amazed at how grown they are--seems like only yesterday that I held them in my arms.

  2. Maybe Santa will give you a new camera? I have an excellent one, but not a big zoom lens...necessary for what I see in the trees. We might be venturing out for a walk today since the weather has cooled down. I will say hi to the ducks and geese as well. Lovely family :)
