"No pessimist ever discovered the secrets of the stars, or sailed to an uncharted land, or opened a new heaven to the human spirit."  --Helen Keller

"Be glad. Be good. Be brave." Eleanor Hodgman Porter (author of Pollyanna)

This is the year I am going to learn to be an optimist. : )

  1. I think the trick might come in embracing not-so-optimistic thoughts fully and completely so that they pass quicker... at least that's how it works for me... but we may all have different ways of arriving at the same end. Whatever your path, I hope you enjoy it fully.

  9. I'm sure that you can make it Susan and like Tracey will be cheering you on. I like that you quoted from Eleanor Hodgman Porter, Pollyanna has to be the extreme optimist. I had lots of Pollyanna moments over the weekend with the prism hanging on the kitchen window making rainbows everywhere.
    Happy days

  10. I am a natural-born optimist and it is HARD WORK some days. Many days, most days. What keeps me going is realizing there is always a choice.

Beautiful photo. Hope you are staying warm!

    Bright blessings.
