The yarn I ordered for Ysolda's Mystery Knit Along arrived yesterday (there is nothing like a package in the mail to brighten one's day). It's Beaverslide Dry Good's Mule Spun 2-ply sock yarn in the Prairie Sandreed color. There is quite a bit of yellow mixed in with the pale green, and I just love it. Can't wait to cast on. The knit along starts Monday if you're interested in joining.
My hyacinth has bloomed and is filling my dining room with heavenly springtime fragrance. The birds that visit my feeder daily make me smile. Is there anything more spectacular than a cardinal? I am so very busy these days; it is in noticing the little things, the beauty in the everyday, that I find the most joy.
This morning I was thinking about Jesus' and the rich young ruler. The young ruler kept all of God's commandments but lacked one thing: humility. He went away sorrowful, because he didn't really want anything in his life to change. Christ never leaves us where we are.

I love your bird photo Susan, great capture. We have cardinals all over our property and I think they are one of my favorite birds.
ReplyDeleteThe yarn you ordered is so pretty. Enjoy the KAL.
My Christmas cactus is finally blooming and I was just sitting here admiring how pretty it is.
I hope you have a great weekend. We are expecting more rain tomorrow so it will be an good excuse to knit.
That cardinal is so majestic, you are lucky to have such extraordinary birds in your part of the world.
ReplyDeleteHave fun knitting!
I will have to show Roan your cardinal. We've been looking at your bird photos lately.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are just beautiful! Cardinals are such pretty birds. I usually get a hyacinth about this time of year to remind me that spring is coming, but I haven't been out to the stores since Christmas because of the weather. I think we'll be able to get out this weekend, and I'll have to look for a hyacinth. They do smell wonderful! Love the color of your yarn too ~ yellows and greens ~ such happy colors.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend,
Anne♥
LOVE your hyacinth! So pretty and just what is needed at this time of year.
ReplyDeleteOh that skein of yarn!! I'm going to do some yarn shopping one day soon because of its beauty. Have fun casting on a new project :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your mystery knit a long -- that sounds fun! I find myself breathing deeper when I look at the hyacinth picture. Perhaps I'm trying to smell it through my computer? :-)
