We stopped by the animal shelter today to visit the cats, and of course, I fell in love. We already have two cats, but now I can't stop thinking about a certain nine year old, green-eyed torbie with white stockings! I felt an instant connection with her--like fireworks only warm and fuzzy, sweet and purry. Why must I fall in love so easily? What will Indie and Willow think (not to mention Elvis!) if I go back tomorrow and bring her home? (Husband says if I have to, I CAN!)

I finished my green socks (although they're not blocked. Do you block socks? I never do). And, I'm 400 pages into War and Peace. See, things are going really good right now, and I should be happy. But, if I don't go back and get that little kitty tomorrow, I'm not sure anyone else will take her because she's nine years old.

  1. I know that if I bring another pet into this tiny home, my other occupants will go on strike :0) but I think your other pets will adapt. The socks look fantastic Susan... :) m.

  2. LOL I stay away from the animal shelter for this very reason. Your black kitty looks just like my Frodo Baggins. I think they would enjoy the company.:-) A torbie with white stockings sounds so cute!
I love your socks! Really cute. I never block socks either.
    Enjoy your book!
    Hugs,

  3. Years ago I use to spend several hours a week playing with all the animals at the shelter just so they would have some comfort. I would cry all the way home wanting to bring all the sweet cats and dogs home with me. It just became too much and I had to stop.
Go back and get that Kitty, you will never regret it!
No, I never block socks :)

  4. Get that kitty, Susan - you dear lady! That lovely one will be happy in your home. (Hopefully the others will be, too.)
You had asked about my socks - well, I went through a spell where I kept ripping it out, but finally got past that. I had the book so long that I thought I'd better return it to the library, so I copied the pertinent pages; but just now I was doing a little, and it said to refer to page ten - oh, no! Hope when I go to work tomorrow it isn't checked out! In short, they're taking forever! :D

  5. Your husband is a honey! I hope your new friend is still there tomorrow. Thank goodness for you, I'm sure you will be saving her life by giving her a home. And such a loving home too.

  9. Bless your husband. Mine is always saying two is enough, but like you I fall in love so easily. And the kids and I are about to start volunteering for a cat rescue group. Something tells me it is going to be a hard job! Can't wait to meet your new kitty :)
