My hens have started laying again; the crocuses are up in my neighbor's yard; the robins are back; and my parakeets are thoroughly twitterpated--spring is coming! I am really looking forward to warmer days, flowers, and green growing things.

I've been reading War and Peace (I should finish it this week or next), knitting socks, going to Mass three days a week, walking in the sunshine, getting to bed earlier and doing all that I can to take care of myself and restore my health. Some days I feel pretty good, other days not so well, but the thing is to be glad for both kinds of days. "We're at large, but God's in charge." (Platon Karatayev in War and Peace).

Just when I was wishing that I could listen to this song all day long, it became the first 24hr music video. : )

  1. I was thinking about you this morning so I really enjoyed reading your post and hearing that life is good, even with some bad days.
"God's in Charge" is a popular saying in my home, it's true.

  4. I've been on a streak of walking more and taking care of myself, it's a good feeling. I spotted the first robin this week and although it's still chilly outside, I know that spring is around the bend :)

  5. Sue,
Glad to hear Spring is sprung in your neck of the woods. I am looking closely at my flowerbed for signs of new life..I'm still waiting but have been assured it's coming.
Did you see the pic of the scarf I sent you? is that something you could make? :)

  6. I'd love to be "walking in the sunshine" ~ just as soon as the mud from the last snow melts, and the wind dies down to a nice breeze, instead of a steady 50 mph gale! :-) I'm working on getting to bed earlier.
You're so right, we need to be glad for both kinds of days.
    :-) ♥

  7. I hope you really will be feeling well soon.
I found out from Audubon that robins are staying in our area all winter! More every year.
